Tax Dollars Fund the Mexico, Canada, US AAMVA Jurisdiction

E-mail Print PDF

AAMVA now includes Canada and the United States.

The AAMVA organization works with countries across the globe.  The agreement that calls for the sharing of information between the provinces of Canada and States of the United States is called the DLC (Driver's License Compact).  In 1994 when NAFTA was passed AAMVA started discussing enlarging AAMVA's jurisdiction to include Mexico.  http://www.aamva.org/KnowledgeCenter/Driver/Compacts/History+of+the+DLA.htm  The tool for this new agreement is called the DLA (Driver's License Agreement)  http://www.numbersusa.com/PDFs/AAMVA%20Driver%20License%20Agreement%20text.pdf  page 4, item 11 jurisdiction

Most lawmakers and citizens are not aware that taxpayer dollars have been used to support this single jurisdiction of Mexico, Canada and the United States.  Two years ago, the National Highway Traffic Safety Counsel started offering grant money to states to "bribe" or encourage the states to participate in AAMVA's DLA.  We have a letter that specifically corroborates what we say-  http://www.ok-safe.com/files/documents/1/REAL_ID_Memo_DLA_Implementation_Funding_6-15-06.pdf
