Identity Documents vs Common Sense

E-mail Print PDF

We want to illustrate what happens when too much emphasis, and faith, is placed in identity documents.  Please keep in mind we support a more secure driver's license and the reality is that terrorists used counterfeit breeder documents (documents needed to obtain a driver's license such as birth certificate) to obtain driver's licenses.

http://www.analyst-network.com/article.php?art_id=1557  How many terrorists entered our country because we were so reliant on ID documents we failed to thoroughly inspect people and goods.?  The truth is we do not know and neither does or government.  It could be a relatively small number (one is too many) up to thousands.  Before we give too much credit to our government for not being attacked on our soil since 9/11 we had better consider what I have been told by counter-terrorism experts that have asked that their names not be used.  I respect that request because the message they send is what is important.  The message is it is very possible that Al-Qaeda and other terrorists organizations such as Hezbollah maybe using our unwillingness to secure our borders as a window of opportunity to bring many terrorists cells into our country in order that they may commit repeated attacks over a prolonged period of time.
